Suzanne Archer: Song of the Cicada

‘Song of the Cicada’ is a fifty-year retrospective of artist Suzanne Archer’s artistic career. Her creative output includes drawing, painting, sculpture, sound and installation. Objects and motifs are defined with abstract and expressionist vision in Archer’s large textural paintings where dark background environs draw subject matter to the surface of the work. This exhibition explores recurring themes of death, travel, landscape and personal tales, and also features a new work commissioned by Campbelltown Arts Centre.
