Sydney Ball: Infinex III

At an unstoppable eighty-one-years of age, iconic Australian artist Sydney Ball continues to push the limits of contemporary Australian art. Infinex III is the continuation of work from his Infinex series, which began in 2010.

This series of hard-edge paintings refer to the artist’s modular works of the 1960s after his time at the New York School. In Infinex III, Ball has, for the first time, created works that can be displayed outdoors, constructed of powder coated aluminium (car metal) – a simple twist of technique that marks a complex new dimension to Ball’s ever-expanding practice.
