The Unconformity 2021

After a three-year interval, ‘The Unconformity’ biennial arts festival in 2021 will again descend on the picturesque township of Queenstown in Tasmania with a vibrant new program of art-inspired cultural development, tourism, and education projects, which seek to reimagine the future of the region through artistic and community collaboration.

From 15 to 17 October, Cribb Street will act as the central hub for food, drink and music; Q Bank Gallery will showcase artists from its residency program in an exhibition of photographs, ‘Portrait of an Interior’ using different forms of portraiture to explore what it means to inhabit lutruwita/Tasmania, with a collection of stories that ripple and speak to the broader issue of environmental impact on the human, and human impact on the environment. In addition, other local galleries join studios, shopfronts and houses on ‘The Unconformity Art Trail’ to present a cohort of more than 50 talented West Coast creators working across a range of creative practices.
