Victoria Reichelt’s painting practice investigates objects and ideas threatened by redundancy, primarily due to advances in digital technologies.
Predictive Text continues Reichelt’s exploration of climate change and impending environmental crises by referencing vintage National Geographic, LIFE, and Time magazines, publications whose contents have proved prescient in recent years as we grapple with ongoing environmental and social collapse. “The works serve as a process of documentation, preserving these objects for future generations, as well as emphasising [their unheeded] warnings,” says Reichelt.
