Drawing upon Narungga poet/activist Natalie Harkin’s 2014 text Cultural Precinct, artists from New South Wales, South Australia and Singapore respond to Adelaide’s cultural boulevard, North Terrace – emblematic of the city’s founding on Kaurna Yarta and the conduct of colonial relations today. Invoking histories of design, moving image and sculpture, these artists cast a critical eye over North Terrace’s familiar and lesser-known aspects, Harkin’s “these limestone walls” haunting the exhibition.
Artists: Andrew Burrell, Allison Chhorn, Louise Haselton, and the ArtHitects (Gary Carsley and Renjie Teoh), with poetry by Natalie Harkin.
