Coastlines and arid regions were explored by Sydney-based Peter Day in a previous show at the gallery; this time, continuing a consideration of landscape, Day turns to the expansive country that lies between.
Known for paintings, sculpture, and large-scale public works, varied styles – drawn from approximately a decade of practice – reflect the period over which works were made, while recurring images, particularly the horizon, give the exhibition its visual and conceptual thread. Presented alongside an exhibition by Day’s longtime friend, Colin Husband.
