A 2022 MFA graduate, Carman’s proposal was selected for its intellectual ambition, artistic merit, historical depth, and complex articulation of how painting can critically engage with economic and psychological structures. Drawing together London’s mercantile history, Reformation-era belief systems, and contemporary infrastructures of financial capitalism, the residency will allow Carman access to primary research materials. It commences from July 2026.
