Robert Lee Davis: Between the lands of now and then

Beginning with an ode to the nineteenth century Myriorama – a myriad of pictures and artworks – card game, this exhibition by American–Australian artist Robert Lee Davis introduces a multitude of expanded, reimagined, and newly formed works that traverse both mythic and nonfictional constructs of humankind across Victoria, Gippsland, and Davis’s personal history.

Highlighting the influence of Australian Impressionists Arthur Streeton and Frederick McCubbin of the Heidelberg School, Davis charts a journey from metropolitan to regional landscapes – a nonlinear testimony to the places encountered being on offer.
