Marcia Espinosa: Umbrales

Working across ceramics, installation, painting, and sculpture, Perth-based artist Marcia Espinosa uses everyday products and objects from folklore, media, and consumer culture to pose questions about systems and social connection.

Exploring the threshold as both an architectural form and a metaphor for moments of transition, through charcoal drawings and clay sculptures, in Umbrales, Espinosa draws on memories of ancient temples, Andean landscapes, sacred geometry, and the relationship between earth and sky – works moving between the physical and the inner world.
