Arlene Williams and Kim Serjeant: Sky Dreaming

Williams and Serjeant  are artists concerned with nature, the landscape, the sky over the landscape and environmental forces. In Sky Dreaming, they approach the sky’s vastness in darkness and in daylight, looking at skyscapes, and reaching beyond into space and at the forces that create and recreate our universe.

By dealing directly with sky and space, the paintings engage with human perceptions. They relate to what we see in the sky, considering both our planet’s place in space as well as our own. Throughout the ages, we humans have gazed at the heavens in wonderment. We use them to guide our activities. We bind them to our hopes and our dreams. Sky Dreaming launches us towards heavens and cosmic events that provide glimpses of worlds that, like our dreams, will hopefully remain mysterious, offering us infinite opportunities for geneses.
