Experience Sydney’s thriving arts community this month during the ninth annual festival of ‘Art Month’ on from 1 to 25 March across a multitude of galleries and creative spaces from the city to the suburbs. The program is brimming with exhibitions, performance, workshops, talks, walks and studio tours featuring a vast array of works across all contemporary art forms. Highlights include: ‘the Collectors’ Space’ exhibition at MAY SPACE from 1 to 17 March; Nick Hall’s ‘Rumpus Room’ at Wagner Contemporary from 1 to 27 March; Marrickville’s ‘Inner West Open Studio Trail’ on 18 March, 10am to 5pm, and Australian Technology Park is holding ‘The Other Art Fair’ for emerging artists from 22 to 25 March. APY Art Centre Collective presents ‘Malatja tjutangku ara irititja kunpungku kanyini – Old Knowledge, Young Blood at APY Gallery, Darlinghurst opening Friday 23 March at 5pm. Saturday 24 March sees Parramatta Artist Studios host live music, artist talks and tours, and Caroline Garcia performs live at Cement Fondu’s inaugural exhibition ‘Suburbia’ featuring over 15 artists and collectives from 3pm. For ‘Art at Night’ trail along the city’s gallery precincts situated in East Sydney, Paddington, Woollahra, Waterloo, Green Square, Chippendale and Redfern, or venture on the north side to St Leonards for TWT Creative Precinct’s block party kicking off at 5pm on Friday 23 March.
