Botticelli to Van Gogh

Audiences are invited to set their eyes on some of the finest artworks spanning 450 years of Western European artmaking in the exhibition ‘Botticelli to Van Gogh: Masterpieces from the National Gallery, London’ at the National Gallery of Australia from 5 March to 14 June.

Trace the art historical periods of the Italian Renaissance, the Dutch Golden Age, Van Dyck, British portraiture, the Grand Tour, 17th century Spanish art, landscape and the birth of Modern Art, across 60 works by some the greatest artists of all time including Rembrandt, Vermeer, Renoir, Cézanne, Turner, Gauguin and Van Gogh. Exhibition highlights include Van Gogh’s Sunflowers (1888), Rembrandt’s Self Portrait at the Age of 34 (1640), and Vermeer’s A Young Woman seated at a Virginal (c.1670).
