The work in this group exhibition explores the difficult connection between art and war. With competition and battle ingrained in human nature from childhood, ‘Conflicted’ centres on what lies at the heart of the human propensity for conflict.
Through the works by various artists, ‘Conflicted’ explores the challenging relationship between art and the advancement of war, as well as in protest to it. Works across a variety of media touch on themes such as sport as battlefield, children and gunplay. The exhibition also investigates how humanity deals with disputes that lead us to war and the lasting impact these disputes continue to have.
