Damien March: Movement

International artist Damien March returns to Sydney this December for his thirteenth solo exhibition titled Movement at Room 205 on Oxford Street.

Movement features iconic local and international scenes portrayed in March’s distinctive and creative style. Iconic Sydney Harbour, Bondi, Manly, Bronte, and LA on large-scale canvases draw the viewer in and maintain attention through detail, process and aesthetic. Perspective devices create a balanced composition and make the viewer at one with the scene.

March uses quick, thick, energetic palette knife gestures that dominate the surfaces, contrasting against delicate blending of paint using calming hues. Resin has been applied vigorously, accentuating waves and movement while providing a unique glistening, glass-like appearance. Sand and ink are visible on the canvas surface, which further emphasises contrast and inventive beauty.

March has had a highly successful career which has culminated in his work being purchased by prestigious buyers such as Beverly Hills City Hall, Thunder Road Pictures in Santa Monica, Altman Brothers real estate in Beverly Hills, Rodeo Realty estate in Beverly Hills, Josh Flagg real estate in Beverly Hills, Castle Rock Entertainment in Beverly Hills and Peter Hitchener, Melbourne.

Movement highlights March’s unique style of art making; his energy and craftsmanship permeate every one of his works.
