This exhibition reflects the evolution of designer and artist Martyn Thompson’s practice; a photographer who creates masterful textiles, fabrics, and wallpaper and interior objects.
Here, new glasswork is integrated with textiles, furniture, and objects from Thompson’s studio, reimagining his ceramic vessels in glass, blending nostalgia and modernity through a tactile, painterly approach. He takes existing ceramic vessels and re-invents them in glass, inspired by the history of pot making. His textile designs are used to form the basis for stained glass screens and lighting. Nothing is entirely new.
