Lisa Reihana: Voyager

Voyager is the gallery’s inaugural international exhibition, featuring a survey of works by Auckland-based Māori new media artist Lisa Reihana.

Showcasing digital works and photography, included is a new iteration of video installation Māramatanga, 2024 – drawing inspiration from Auckland University’s whare whakairo Tāne-nui-a-rangi – and the newly commissioned Belong. An extension of Reihana’s outdoor sculpture Glisten, 2024, for National Gallery Singapore, Belong draws inspiration from local First Nations stories and the gallery’s environment, the artist adorning its entrance with hundreds of reflective discs that glisten and move with the wind.
