You Jin: Synapse

Marking the first Australian exhibition of Beijing-based Chinese artist You Jin, this new body of work extends an ongoing exploration of consciousness, perception and the boundless terrains of thought.

Jin’s reflections on the brain as not simply a biological organ, but a vast cosmology – a multidimensional site where existence, imagination and thought interlace – anchors the exhibition; the artist considering how neural networks might reveal new models for existence, bridging real and imagined, the material and the transcendental. Networks that are both the architecture of perception and the source of myth.
