Wedgwood: Artists and Industry

Wedgwood: Artists and Industry charts over 200 years of Wedgwood ceramics through one hundred objects from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A).

The story of Wedgwood is one woven into Australia’s colonial past. Joseph Banks, for example, supplied its founder – Josiah – with Sydney Cove clays that were used in a medallion commemorating the First Fleet landing in 1788. Here, highlights from the V&A’s collections and archives are organised across five distinct chapters; an immersive experience, the exhibition adds to understandings of the global impact on ceramics of this household name.
