The Lethbridge 10,000 Small-Scale Art Award received a record number of entries this year.
The Lethbridge Gallery has established a strong reputation for exhibiting works demonstrating exceptional detail and creativity. With the intention of fostering the next generation of artists, Lethbridge Gallery initiated the Lethbridge 10,000.
Now in its fourth year, this exciting art competition is open to national and international artists for small-scale artworks. The judging is based on three equally evaluated criteria of creativity, originality and skill with $10, 000 awarded to the winner.
Lethbridge Gallery owner, Brett Lethbridge commented that he was “impressed by the high standard of work which made the selection of the finalists an exciting yet challenging task”.
126 artworks have been shortlisted as finalists for the award with Brett saying “We tried be as diverse and inclusive as our small exhibition space will allow.”
Hanging “salon-style” the artworks will all measure under 60cm in diametre, showcase an excellent variety of works – by emerging and mid-career artists and are priced to be very affordable to the buyer.
The announcement of this year’s winner will take place on Saturday, 15 June from 6-9pm, 15 June 2013.
