From four decades of practice, 20 large and rarely seen works that include monumental drawings on paper, unique artist books, wall drawings and chalk on blackboard artworks are on show at Deakin this month by Melbourne artist Godwin Bradbeer. His abilities as draftsman run parallel to a thoughtful focus on the fragile nature and the subject of the body as a ruin. “Bradbeer’s artistic research mediates on the archaic and archaeological, ideas of mortality and transformation”, explained exhibition curator James Lynch.
