Featuring the works of four diverse Australian artists – Amos Gebhardt, Archie Moore, Kate Geck, and Betty Russ – Histories, presented by Hobart’s Good Grief Studios as part of Dark Mofo, asks questions of society, shared experiences, and narrations of time through contemporary art. “How does our articulation of the past impact the present?” the gallery muse. The viewer is invited to consider this through a landscape of unearthly sculptures, cinematic slices, textile installations, and decolonising practices, posing a radical reframing of history.
