This exhibition features recent work by Jamie Boyd, whose paintings often have a lyrical dream-like quality that matches his sensitive attention to surface textures and his vigorous, instinctive response to landscape.
“It seems to me that the brush stroke itself is the key to imbuing a picture with life… This notion has been expressed before and I think it applies especially to on-the-spot (plein air) painting where the landscape takes possession of the painter’s spirit just as the painter steals from the forms of the land,” says Boyd.
