‘In Cahoots: artists collaborate across Country’ is the culmination of six residencies with key remote and regional Aboriginal art centres, undertaken by leading independent artists – both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal – across Australia from the Western Desert to Arnhem Land and the Mornington Peninsula. Each artist demonstrates their unique perspective and traditional and contemporary skills in harvesting materials directly from their surroundings and reimagining them into new forms and new meaning. Featuring large-scale woven installations, sculptures made from reclaimed tin, wooden objects, contemporary furniture, photographic works and paintings.
