Instant Warhol

Instant Warhol takes us straight to Andy Warhol’s point of view, famous, fleeting, commercialised, constructed.

Instant Warhol is a selection of over fifty original Polaroid portraits from the Brant Foundation in New York, captured by Warhol of celebrities and artists in the ‘70s and ‘80s, including Mick Jagger, Dolly Parton, Liza Minelli, Jane Fonda, Sylvester Stallone, and Jean-Michel Basquiat; a social document of superficiality and fame, most evident in the artist’s self-portraits, where features are often exaggerated, transformed, or disguised, so the images became caricatures of his real face.
