For Izabela Pluta, who left Poland in 1986, place is always relational – through encounter, migration, and movement.
Across moving image, photography, sculpture, sound, and textile, this cocommission between partnering institutions in Australia and Poland moves between the port towns of Newcastle and Szczecin; presenting a constellation of material forms, creating sensory encounters and bodily echoes of oceanic movements and planetary orbits – water becomes both atmospheric field and temporal force.
