Kaldor Public Art Project (KPAP) launches its 27th exhibition, entitled ‘13 Rooms’ and brings together 13 artists with over 100 performers to present an innovative group exhibition of ‘living sculpture’ in 13 purpose-built rooms in Sydney. Curated by renowned museum directors and curators Hans Ulrich Obrist, Co-director of London’s Serpentine Gallery, and Klaus Biesenbach, Director of MoMA PS1 in New York, this groundbreaking public exhibition will run for 11 days.
‘13 Rooms’ now occupy the heritage space of Pier 2/3 Walsh Bay and for the last fortnight 140 performers have been on site daily, rehearsing performance works created by some of the art world’s greatest, including Marina Abramović, John Baldessari and Damien Hirst.
Opening to the public at 11am Thursday 11 April, the exhibition will present a bumper Public Program and series of Events giving audiences the opportunity to explore various aspects and ideas around Performance Art. The full program is available on the KPAP website.
This is one project that won’t be around for very long – so be sure not to put off your visit because you might be too late.
