Six contemporary artists from the Asia Pacific region – Charwei Tsai, Kira Kim, Lav Diaz, Song Dong, Sudsiri Pui-Ock and Yang Yongliang explore the relationship between land and people and the impact of natural and man-made disasters on their lives.
Underlining local and global issues, the exhibition highlights the contrast between urban developments and rural stagnation, the difficulties of adjusting to modern society, and maintaining the belief that land is a sustainable life source. Works in the exhibition look at the impact of global warming, the imprisoning effects of urban development and the complex relationships between nature, ritual and spirituality.
