Lilli Waters: ANJA

‘ANJA’ is the second solo photographic exhibition from Australian artist Lilli Waters. ‘ANJA’ is a diverse photographic series featuring 30 everyday women, which seeks to represent both the real and redefined beauty of women in contemporary society.

‘ANJA’ confronts the fears and stigmas associated with the perceptions of the female form in today’s world of unrealistic digital manipulation, plastic surgery and an almost alien, idealised standard of how women ‘should look’. The evocative, layered and sometimes abstract images conjure deep thoughts about women’s physical and emotional representations and place within society. All images from the exhibition will be published in a book with 50 per cent of profits going to the White Ribbon Foundation.
