Celebrated Australian designer Linda Jackson dedicates her first children’s picture book to her parents, who supported her creativity and took her camping in the bush. ‘Rainbow Menagerie’ catalogues the facts and idiosyncrasies of our native animals, reptiles and birds against a psychedelic landscape of neon colours. Each of the 12 creatures from the emu to Hercules moth, green tree frog and goanna is rendered in a black silhouette, inspired by Jackson’s process of collage when working on her Black Opal artworks.
