‘Alongside my homeland runs a plunging waterfall,’ writes Melissa Harvey. ‘A sacred site within the Bagul Waajaarr Nature Reserve, on the land of the Gumbaynggirr people, where the river flows underground… and returning upwards to feed a large pool – The Silent Pool.’
‘The Silent Pool’ is Harvey’s exploration of place and her personal connection to it – informed by geographical histories, sensory memories, the physical qualities of natural fibres and built environments, and textural experiences.
