Nana Ohnesorge: Changing Colours

Concerned with the lack of representation and public acknowledgement of indigenous heros, Ohnesorge’s latest exhibition is about telling the often marginalized but significant Australian stories.

The new work created for ‘Changing Colours’ focuses on two historical figures: Bennelong and William Buckley. For Ohnesorge, their stories of crossing the boundaries of racial division are the inspiration of the exhibition’s greater narrative. Re-telling these stories offers an opportunity to contribute to, and encourage, the dialogue between Australia’s traditional owners and post-colonial society.
