Punuku Tjukurpa

‘Punuku Tjukurpa’ by artists from the Maruku Arts centre in the Aboriginal community of Mutitjulu, near Uluru in the Central Desert, celebrates the law of Anangu culture (Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands). A collection of Punu-carved wooden objects; piti (carved bowls), tjara (shields), miru (spearthrowers), kali (boomerangs), tjutinya (clubs) and walka boards along with sculpture, two-dimensional pieces, and audio and video works share the nature and nuances of the relationship between punu and Tjukurpa (Dreaming and Law).
