
Two-time Archibald Prize winner del kathryn barton presents her directorial debut ‘RED’, with actors Cate Blanchett, Alex Russell and Sydney Dance Company’s Charmene Yap who celebrate the autonomous and merciless power of the female redback spider’s mating ritual. Barton meditates on the role of sex and art in our lives as meaningful and arousing. She has previously directed ‘the human dress’ (2012) and ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ (2015), both with filmmaker Brendan Fletcher. Produced by Aquarius Films and on at the Art Gallery of South Australia as part of the Adelaide Festival, 26 January to 30 April, 2017. Free admission.
