Richard Lewer: The Adventure of a Lifetime

Richard Lewer recently walked the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. Its enduring legacy inspired the artist who has created a new body of work structured around the week-long journey comprising portraits of the local guides, drawings and large landscape paintings which conversely represent the beauty of the environment as well as the history of war. Lewer’s project presents the Kokoda Track to us, and himself, in order to understand its ongoing relevance.
