Rivermouth

Selected works from the 23rd Biennale of Sydney: rīvus, by artists/participants Birrarung/Yarra River, Tania Candiani, Jessie French, Gail Mabo, Diana Scherer, and Paula de Solminihac, regroup in this new exhibition which expands on original themes and concerns, exploring the potential and agency of natural elements, materials and cycles of growth, decay, and regeneration.

Rivermouth reopens discussion about the connection between sky and Country, considering the migratory routes of waterbirds, First Nations celestial mapping, consumption and re-use through algae-based bioplastics, and the domestication of root systems with exhibition-grown grass.
