Rosie Deacon: HOW DO I KNOW IF MY PARROT IS HAPPY?

Biomorphic sculptures referencing the native flora and fauna of Rosie Deacon’s hometown in rural New South Wales have been a prominent conduit for the artist to channel her memories, experiences and sense of community. With a practice that blurs the line between contemporary art, craft and jewellery making, Deacon draws on familiar shapes, textures and figurines to create a surreal psychedelic realm within The Lock-Up’s historical space – enter and examine the intricacies and illusory forms.
