Celebrating its 20th year, the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival features a record 6282 artists in 660 exhibitions at 560 venues across metropolitan and regional areas through August.
Highlights include: the SALA Parlour, a funky converted shipping container on the South Australian Museum lawns; celebrity portrait sessions as part of the Royal South Australian Society of Art Third Biennial Portrait Prize; art dinner experiences, artist residencies, art tours and Art After Dark. SALA Forum Day at ACE Open on 19 August from 11-4pm presents discussion and debate led by artists, concerning the value of visual arts, now and in the future, and from 25 August FRAN Fest pays tribute to 40 years of women’s artistic achievement.
