The Eutick Memorial Still Life Award

The ‘Eutick Memorial Still Life Award’ (EMSLA) is supported by Dr Mal Eutick and attracts high calibre entries from artists across Australia. Over 70 finalists, selected from 230 entries, will compete for a prize pool of $20,000, judged by historian and art critic John McDonald, and Director of Grafton Regional Gallery Jude McBean. This is EMSLA’s 6th year and the show will also tour to Fountain Court Gallery in Parliament House, Macquarie St. Sydney in 2014.

The gallery purchases outstanding works from the show to contribute to a steadily growing collection that has also been loaned to several other galleries for display. Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery aims to broaden their collection to be representative of the history of ‘still life’ painting in Australia. Importantly this is also a goal that answers many of the demands made of regional galleries to acquire, exhibit, promote and physically contribute to the cultural capital of the nation.
