Forty finalist works including the winning and highly commended entries are on view in the ninth acquisitive ‘tidal’ award for Tasmanian artists. ‘tidal.20’ invited artists to reflect on the natural environment, and cultural, personal and political concerns related to Tasmania’s coastal regions and communities. We congratulate artist Janine Combes who was recently announced as the first prize winner for her work titled Kelp Elegy (2020), a creation made using the mediums of fine silver and stainless-steel, which envision fragments of giant kelp.
