Part of Dark Mofo’s festival of darkness, Indonesian artist Tisna Sanjaya presents an exhibition which explores one of the seven deadly sins – greed – through performance by a collective of Sundanese artists, instrument builders, and alchemists. The performers engage in ritual practices that tell a different story each night – based on the celebration carnival, ‘Jajampanan’, reimagining traditions to an interactive soccer game turned performance ceremony that honours communal activism in rejection of greed. Alongside the performance, a daily installation forms from the residue of the evening’s activities.
