Violet Bond: Bodies of Water

Bodies of Water is a new series of immersive works by Northern Territory-based multidisciplinary artist Violet Bond. The exhibition explores how water, mud and red dirt come to life in the wet season through film, photography and installation.

“The Wet is like an entity that covers the landscape; a blanket of life that smothers everything that came before,” says Bond. Images depict the environmental nature of death (overgrown grasses, the thickness of mud, murky rivers, and saltwater predators) counterbalanced with images of life (cicadas, and flowing bodies of water).
