Lou’s Place is a small terrace house situated on a leafy street in Sydney’s Kings Cross. For over twenty years, it has served as a community-based refuge for women in crisis: domestic violence, coercive control, homelessness, isolation or other severe trauma and neglect.
Women have turned to this shelter for help, for a place to feel safe and heal. Now, artist Wendy Sharpe turns to you for further support with a special fundraising exhibition titled Her Shoes, featuring fifty-two original, signed colour pastel drawings of shoes. Each work represents a woman who, on average, is killed through domestic violence each week in Australia.

Showing online and IRL at Juniper Hall in Paddington from 29 April to 21 May 2022, the exhibition aims to raise $100,000, with 100% of sales going to Lou’s Place.
