WHO ARE YOU: Australian Portraiture

Merging the traditional and unconventional, WHO ARE YOU: Australian Portraiture features 130 works across a variety of mediums – from painting, screenprinting and photography to sculpture and film. Drawn from the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria and the National Portrait Gallery, this exhibition explores who we are and how we view others – historically, today and into the future. It questions what constitutes portraiture by examining the surprising and sometimes unconventional ways of representing likeness.

Artists include Howard Arkley, Atong Atem, Nora Heysen, Tracey Moffatt, Vincent Namatjira, John Nixon, Patricia Piccinini, Shirley Purdie, Michael Riley, Kaylene Whiskey, William Yang, and Anne Zahalka, to name a few.
