WAVE

Gerry Wedd’s ceramics are brought to life in an immersive film installation shown on a four-metre high, seven-metre circumference screen. Visitors are invited on an epic journey from sea to sky comprising three acts inspired by Wedd’s new ceramic piece – following the tradition of “narrative pottery.” First, a spinning urn shows a landscape full of life before European invasion, followed by a new “arrival” in which vast urbanisation gives way to raging bushfires, collapsing coastlines, and choked waterways. Finally, a great wave redeems all, and renewal begins.
