Works from the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and the National Portrait Gallery (NPG), Canberra, come together in this portrait showcase exploring the development of the genre in Australia across time and media, and its role in creating a sense of Australian national identity. Featuring more than 200 works by Australian artists, it reveals the artistic synergies and contrasts between the collections of these two iconic art institutions. The show is on at NPG from 1 October 2022 to 29 January 2023.
