William Mackinnon: The Lucky Country?

Between 2008 and 2010 William Mackinnon spent time in the Kimberley and Central Australia – an experience that helped him to ‘find his own voice as an artist’. The landscape of northern Western Australia, remote Western Desert and Pintupi country had a profound affect on Mackinnon’s physical and mental attitude toward painting. Working as an artist’s assistant and under the guidance of mentors, Mackinnon was able to discover his unique visual language; showcased in this new series of works.
