Catriona Pollard: Surfacing

Taking inspiration from the natural world Catriona Pollard combines traditional basket making and assemblage techniques with foraged plant materials; vines, branches, leaves and seedpods, and other earthly elements such as charcoal, clay and ash to create intricately woven and constructed fibre works, sculpture and basketry. Pollard’s new imaginations celebrate the beauty and abundance of nature, highlighting the rich colours, textures and forms that it produces. Many of these works are made purely from organic materials without glues, dyes or synthetic threads.
