The effervescent, one-day multi-arts festival ‘Art, Not Apart’ (ANA) gets ready to ‘Shake It Up’ on 18 March in Canberra. This year’s theme encourages exploration and change, and questions the status quo in pursuit of new perspectives through art.
With exhibitions, performance art, numerous music stages, installations, strange interventions, street food, cafes and a dance party. ANA’s premise is to blur the boundary not only between artistic mediums, but also transcend the traditional ways we engage with art and expression. Their goal is to celebrate creativity for a more connected society. The largely free festival also offers food stalls, drinks and ticketed art events.
Works that shake up ideas and approaches will be prioritised, some have been commissioned, and they will be carefully placed throughout the NewActon Precinct, the National Film and Sound Archives and numerous other venues.
