Through portraiture, figurative, and still life work, Perth-based artist Rachelle Dusting explores the sacred and shifting terrains of identity, beauty, and transformation.
Through the lens of a woman approaching motherhood, the paintings of Sacred Ground meditate on the tenderness and tension of becoming. Still life, objects, and interiors are imbued with meaning and memory through Dusting’s drawing on the domestic sphere – the artist illustrating material and emotional inheritance through heirlooms, fruit, and light-filled interiors that act as visual devotions.
