Refiguring Dystopia: The Art Of Richard Goodwin

Curated by Gavin Wilson, this survey exhibition traces Richard Goodwin’s career as a sculptor and architect from 1991 to the present day. Through sculptures, maquettes, videoed performances, photographs and drawings, audiences will engage with Goodwin’s poetically charged artworks that exist in the space where art and architecture meet.

Goodwin’s architectural practice concentrates on parasitic connections between private and public space. Through projects that incorporate explorations of space through games, data collection and mapping, Goodwin explores energy flow in urban spaces through an interdisciplinary practice that blurs the lines between art, architecture and public space. The result creates a radical way of rethinking objects and redefining the roles of art and architecture in our cities.
